Valfarly chanced upon wikipedia and thought "that'll never work"... but after using it a few times, he eventually got sufficently annoyed by a typo to do something about it and on 15th March 2004 hit edit. From there it was a slippery slope to writing articles for things he found no-one else had written about and adding tidbits, factoids and other nuggets of information to previously covered topics. Finds himself correcting spelling and grammar far too often!
AutoWikiBrowser is a semi-automatic page loader and editor designed for working on large batches of Wikipedia pages. One of its tools, the database scanner, lets you do exhaustive searches of the encyclopedia's content. It can search article titles and article contents. The tool supports regex, so you have unlimited possibilities for search criteria.
It will find absolutely every occurrence of an entered search string, and return the names of all the articles that it comes across that contain it. Unfortunately, it only presents a maximum of 30,000 page names, at which point it will stop. So, the more specific the search criteria, the better.

The greenbottle blue tarantula (Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens) is a species of spider in the tarantula family, Theraphosidae. It is native to the Paraguaná Peninsula in the Venezuelan state of Falcón. The spider features metallic blue legs and a blue-green carapace, which give it its name. They are very active and fast-growing animals that are particularly attractive to hobbyists. This mounted greenbottle blue tarantula female is part of the collection of the Muséum de Toulouse in France.Photograph credit: Didier Descouens
